· Evaluating situational options: Determining whether to keep, sell, or structure a clean exit
· Deconstructing federal pre-foreclosure mortgage parameters and administrative regulations
· Analyzing timelines mapped directly from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
· Navigating specific Michigan Foreclosure Timelines and statutory prevention sequences
· Building robust borrower loss-mitigation workout packages and loan modifications
· Reviewing systemic impacts of foreclosure judgments on subsequent credit reporting metrics
· Locating local, secure resources via HUD-Certified Housing Counselors

Taught by Gesher Human Service’s HUD certified homebuyer education counselors, you will learn about the entire homebuying process, including credit education, how to qualify for a mortgage, mortgage terminology, proper home maintenance and how to avoid foreclosure. $50 fee per household. This class is also approved for the MSHDA Down Payment Assistance Program.
